DESCRIPTIVE
PARAGRAPH
Descriptive paragraph is the paragraph that explain or describe
something, it can be person, place, animals, etc. The purpose itself is to make
someone can imagine the thing that described.
Generic Structure of Descriptive paragrapg
1.
Identification : Identifying the something which will
be described in general
2.
Description : Describing something specificly,
like a shape, quality, and characteristic of something itself.
Language Features of Descriptive Paragraph
1.
Using
linking verb
2.
Using
adjective
3.
Using
simple present tense
4.
Using
attributive and identifying process.
Example of Descriptive Paragraph
King of Way Kambas
Elephant is main animal in the Way Kambas. Many people
visited Way Kambas to look this animal. The people like with elephant because
it is smart animal and can play footbal like a human
Elephant has a big body, it has weight about 800 kg till
1000 kg and the height about 2 metre. Elephant has four legs and has wide ear.
The main specific feature of elephant is the trunk, the function of the trunk
to take some foods and smell something.
Not only has a trunk, but also elephant has a pair of ivory, the position
of ivory is in beside the trunk. The ivory of elephant is very strong
